Apart from anything else I'd have thought walking about Scotland and England would have been a bit taters in the altogether!

Good point, OG. Nothing worse than following through.

Mamy I was more thinking of him putting his bare bum on a seat in a pub or on a bench in a park, especially if he's just taken a dump in the countryside as someone just suggested. I couldn't care less if he walked past my home naked, but I'd go through the roof if he put his bare backside on the bench at the top of our road. As I said, yuk!
Slapshot...people can form their own opinions about me as they like, but Gough has spent years in Britain, for committing public order offences, and I haven't. He has transgressed the law, sometimes within seconds of leaving his previous court case. Look at his Wiki entry if you need all the gory details.

I have actually met this chap a few years ago, and he wanted to walk around our campsite naked, when the place was full of children with their families. "Lifestyle" choices are one thing but that was unacceptable and he was prevented from doing so by a very irate site owner, who was backed up by the rest of us.

We have plenty of nudist beaches in my part of Cornwall, where everybody knows what to expect, but in public places it is difficult to avoid this chap. The Police, trying to save him from yet another prison sentence, tried to negotiate with him, to prevent him from walking in front of a Primary School, in full view of the young children. But he refused to cooperate and was arrested.

He has to realise that he just can't have the right to his "lifestyle" choices, when it takes away others right not to have him appear in from of their children. I would have thought all this was obvious.
ladybirder, I doubt most Publicans would allow naked ramblers in - as for outdoor benches, do you wipe them down each time you take a seat.

There is likely dog, fox, bird excrement on them or sticky hand marks from toddlers with ice cream , I don't have much time for being squeamish.
Indeed

I would have thought Gough would be more useful campaigning for more CO beaches which many people would enjoy and few would be bothered by

and not for the right to go into Sainsbury's naked which very few people would want to do anyway - their chiller cabinets seriously over perform
What does CO stand for in this context?

Oh, thank you. For a moment I thought it stood for **** Out!
LOL

well i suppose it does

c--k out
or
c--t out
Yes I'm quite aware of him Mikey, my point is you accuse the man of being off his trolley when anyone could accuse any of the rest of us of being nuts.
Perhaps they could but where is the evidence that you, or me or anybody else on here is mad ?

Most people on here today agree that Gough is an idiot and a menace. So do lots of Magistrates Court up and down the land and now he has lost his human rights case. So I am hardly sticking my neck out very far here, am I ?

If he was only to stick to rambling naked over distant and sparsely populated bits of heather, we wouldn't be discussing him today. But he doesn't know when it is appropriate to be naked and when it isn't. Walking through town centre and past schools isn't appropriate, but he refuses to acknowledge that simple truth. And that is why I think he is unbalanced.
How would you feel if your mid teenage son or daughter walked naked around the town?
"unbalanced" ... is one heavier than the other?
If this had been a woman in exactly the same situation would she have served the same prison time?
LOL SunnyDave !

As the only person on here to have actually seen this chap naked ( apart from all the 100's of Court Officials, Policemen, Prison Warders, etc )

I wish I could give a first hand account, but its a long time ago now. But I am sure if he had anything remarkable down below, I would have noticed it.
Don't know eddie, but why not ?

Seriously ... (sort of)

1. Nudity is OK - really it is - a bit off-putting sometimes, but inherently OK.

2. Unfortunately our society has sexualised nudity to the point where the mere sight of a limp todger gives many people an attack of the vapours, so public nudity is restricted to certain designated areas.

3. If you don't agree with "2", the answer is not to wander around with your bits/tits out, but to campaign for a more sane approach to public nudity.

4. Human rights are too valuable to be exploited willy-nilly - this twit has trivialised them - I'm glad he's been told to get knotted.
