Mr Osborne welcomed the agreement after a four-hour meeting of EU finance ministers in Brussels, in which he said it had also agreed that the UK would pay the additional sum in two interest-free instalments before September 2015.

UK to pay £1.7bn EU bill in full despite Osborne’s claim to have halved it... http:// gu.com/ p/435pc /tw via @guardian
Yes, as Osborne said 'it's a result for Britain'.
By that he meant if you're a gullible fool, one brain cell short of village idiot status then this is the UK lions mastering the toadying EU and the muppets who run it, at immense cost to the UK taxpayer.
In reality, we've crumbled in a tactical withdrawal sense (as opposed to out-and-out surrender) and will indeed be £1.7 billion lighter come 2016.
These clowns are making it easier for Farage by the day.
