They did catch the hoaxer. I think he was sentenced to something like 2 years.
8 years, he got.
I'm sure that I can probably rationalise my response to this.....eventually.
In the meantime I'll just content myself with hoping that his remaining days are few in number and thoroughly unpleasant.
Another sad time was for Bruce Jones actor as Les Battersby in Coronation Street. Didn't he pull out of a wall a victim of Peter Sutcliffe.
Yes I was & do remember Andy, I was working in a place that housed Persons like the Ripper Andy, the were devious, sly, cunning, been there & seen the video, there is a big place near our location, there was also one in Denbigh North wales.
He was not as "insane" as hes made them believe.

A classic ruse to try and get a cushier sentence and time inside

how old is he ?
He's 68.

Can you not click on links?

Looks just like the link I put up @ 1439, ^^^ that seems to have been a waste of time as well

well not really
Sutcliffe told his gaolers he as gonna feign insanity and up they popped to give evidence against him in the pretrial that found he was fit to plead

so he wasnt mad because he was made to plead

and then his incipient schizophrenia got the better of him a few years into his sentence. And no he wasnt pretending - he really did go mad

Cam't say I feeling overly sorry for him
thanks tony. a gentleman. good manners cost nothing :) actually I don't really care if he has had a heart attack or lives another 30 years, as long as he stays incarcerated forever.
And no he wasnt pretending - he really did go mad

Yeah, and it's got worse apparently he's a JW now.

// The immediate reaction for a number of people on receiving this news is to hope Sutcliffe either dies in agony, or perhaps lives on in agony. //

I'm not bothered about the agony, or the living on. I just wish he'd die. He's costing us money.
andy-Hughes, he was interviewed nine times by the police not two as you previously stated, he was even nicknamed 'The Ripper' by his friends because of the amount of times he was questioned.
eee, I am vexed ....
I feel the same way about this news as I do when its reported that a drug addict has died because of an overdose...I just can't be asked to show any sympathy at all !
