No, he doesn't, and he even answered his own question.

"He added: “Feels like to me it’s favouritism because they’re up there and they’re always…they’re campaigning, "

Madeleine's parents have worked tirelessly to make sure their plight has remained in the public eye.
Madeleine's parents kept her in the headlines.

I think maybe the headlines might have caused her death.

Don't need to click the link, just reading it suggests yes. We all know there is a media obsession with the one lost child whilst in comparison all others are ignored. And the media sways authorities. Meanwhile the Pope really is a Catholic !
Yes, of course he has a point.......a very good point.

We try to convince ourselves that we, in the UK, are a classless society.

Nonsense.

Father, a Consultant Cardiologist, mother an attractive medical practitioner and a pretty child abducted. The readers loved it and the media gave the population what they wanted.

This will go on and a film will follow.
As usual it is a case of 'He who shouts loudest'.

Not everyone has the meas or the capability to manipulate the media, so favoritism, maybe not, probably just lazy journalism.
Sqad's right. Money talks.
Yes he has a point.

I have pondered on here over the years why it is Madelaine who has received all the media attention, when children go missing every day.

It may be that the Mccanns have campaigned, but i can't imagine that any other parent would not do the same - so why has their 'campaign' captured the global imagination for this length of time.

/// Madeleine's parents have worked tirelessly to make sure their plight has remained in the public eye. ///

They have had the money and resources to be able to do so, perhaps this dad hasn't.

/// Contributors to the programme claimed that the disparity was because the McCanns were a “middle-class family” who were able to successfully “market” their family tragedy. ///
Andy...because they could afford to campaign.

Joe Bloggs has to return to work to pay his bills.

It is not only the media that has been manipulated, the police have spent an unbelievable amount of time, money and man power resources on this case also.

I suspect as we type that there are still British police officers still out in Portugal.
What about Shannon Matthews? That family weren't exactly high on the social scale were they? However because they also tirelessly campaigned, albeit with a much darker motive behind it, EVERYONE knew about that case too.
I agree with this chap. While I have every sympathy with the Mccanns, they have had way over the publicity that others people, who lack their friends in high places, have had in publicising missing children.

I didn't I'm afraid or if I did I have long forgotten.
I don't think i'd be wrong in stating that you must be one of the very few people, who follows news regularly, who hasn't heard of the Shannon Matthews case and her dreadful family including her odious mother Karen AOG.
The Maddie campaign has received some big donations ... like £50,000 from Simon Cowell.

In a fair world, Simon Cowell would have thought ... the Maddie hunt is well financed, so I will use my donation to help find the unknown boy from Norfolk.

And I will donate anonymously, because I don't want to get any favourable publicity out of such a sad situation.

Oh, sorry ... "fair" and "world" ...

Can those words actually be used together in the English language?
Much was said by Owen Jones about the Shannon Matthews case, in his book :::: "Chavs...the Demonisation of the Working Class"

It makes very interesting reading and I can recommend it to anyone...available at your local Library today ( That is if the cuts have left you with any Libraries of course ! )
Agree with B00 here, this is notorious case.

Always ready to take the advantage of getting in a political slant on things.

So may I join you in saying "mostly by Labour controlled Councils", the same ones who immediately put up the council tax that had been frozen under the Tories, the loss of jobs, the taking away of certain refuse bins, the discontinuing of Community Transport etc etc.
yes he does. because I don't even recognise this wee boys name :(
