http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -politi cs-3044 1293
I am far from being a Russell Brand fan. He is a terrible scruffbag and I wish he do would his shirt up, get a hair cut and have a shave. But he described Farage last night, on Question Time, as a "Pound Shop Enoch Powell"
Short, sharp and to the point ....Well done Russell !

My criticism of Farage is nothing to do with him being right wing. There's nothing wrong with that per se. I don't even have a problem with him believing that the country is overcrowded etc or that the EU is not good for Britain. I happen to disagree strongly but that is beside the point. The problem with him for me is that he expresses his views in divisive and...

Oh but it did Gromit. Try reading it again, properly:

In case you're struggling:
This is not incompatible with UKIP drawing their support from working-class Tories of course, but the potential risk to the Labour party should be clear: there is a significant body of working class Labour support that is hostile towards immigration and receptive to the sort of message that UKIP are offering, UKIP may not have taken full advantage of it yet, but they show every sign of attempting to do so in the future. There is already some sign of that shift – Peter Kellner’s analysis last month based on recent YouGov polls suggest that the balance of the voters UKIP are picking up is changing, and that amongst more recent UKIP recruits the proportion of former Labour voters is growing.

On of the questions asked was "Is Britain Overpopulated" Not one person on the panel or the chairman took any notice of the question and all went on about immigration. Why could nobody say "Yes I think Britain is overpopulated and the ideal amount of people should be 30,000,000 for the size of the island.
Accusations of racism are losing their effect because they're so overused, it's all become a bit a joke.
It's like the word has lost it's meaning having been aimed initially at racists (correctly), but then morphing to include anyone expressing concern about immigration, islamist terrorism, the EU, or basically anyone else the accuser didn't like on the basis they held right wing views.
People shouting the word without thinking are starting to look stupider than the person they're shouting it at.

Russell Brand is a 'has been' comedian no more than a tin-pot wannabee who's Ego far outweighs his intellect. Some of the venom he spouted forth in the direction of Farage showed his lack of knowledge of UKIP policies and was a 'performance', as was the Social Worker Banshee placed in the audience. The interesting fact is that these cheap jibes aimed at Farage are total own goals, because apart from the dyed in the wool lefties and righties who will never change their political stances, this bullying actually attracts UKIP to the popular vote. Politicians and Journalists are so eager to publicise inflammatory sound bites from Farage, often taken out of context, not realising that people have grown out of this hairpulling and just one someone to tell it like it is -ie Farage.
If you wish to congratulate someone who was extremely rude and uncouth to a fellow panellist, then it is up to you, but then perhaps it all comes with being leftist, whereas Nigel Farage, took it in his stride being the gentleman that he is.
And who was that horrible woman who kept on shouting "Racist" from the back of the audience, his mother?

/// His party attracts a and continues to attracts people who seem to want to turn Britain back to a mythical era from the fifties. ///
Anyone who could or tries to would get my vote, I was around during the fifties and believe me they were much better times than we have now.
Our children left school with a good basic education, that would stand them in good stead for their working life before them.
Our school leavers had a choice of good jobs when they left school.
One could actually get a doctor to pay one a visit, even for a cold.
One could afford to travel by train.
One was personally served in all shops
When one pulled up at a filling station for one's four gallons of petrol for a pound, one remained in the car while the attendant filled the tank, washed the windscreen, checked the oil and also checked the water.
One could afford to have one's suits tailor made, rather than 'off the peg'.
It was safe to walk alone at night, if one did encounter a group of chaps a little inebriated, they greeted you by uttering the words "goodnight mate"

To be honest, though, where would we be without our loony left-wing friends. They are a source of constant amusement, as long as you don't take them too seriously.
You've got to admire their dogged determination. It doesn't seem to matter how many times they are proved hopelessly, comprehensively wrong, back they bounce, unabashed, spouting the same amusing drivel.
Thanks guys.
