Presumably that means a letter suspending him. Are we to believe that UKIP suspended him but did not inform the media? That is very unlikely. If an MEP is suspended and the police informed of a crime then surely UKIP would tell the press immediately. However, they waited until he had rejoined the Conservatives before announcing anything.

Should the criminal allegations be proven to be true I wonder how much delight the PM will display that Mr Bashir has bounced back again to the Tory fold. I would imagine that he might just bounce out of the Tory party and have to find another party that would welcome him. His allegiance appears to change quite often. Funny how it took him three years to come to his conclusions about UKIP and suddenly when accused of wrong doing he jumps ship and decides UKIP is not the party for him. I am surprised that the PM would openly accept a defector who may or may not have criminal charges pending against him ,associates with a criminal who is a kidnapper and his sons are found guilty of employing illegal immigrants in their Manchester restaurant. Not the sort of person I would be delighted to accept in my party!! Oh well UKIP's gain is the Tory's error of judgement I would suggest.
