pop star JAMELIA, on the Loose Women panel today, said "You're not supposed to say Mixed Race anymore -the correct term is Dual Heritage". We're you aware of this?

i am familiar with the expression but i wasn't tarring anyone with any brushes, you brought it up & i'm still at a loss as to why

the q is about the terms people use and whether or not they are offensive, you seem to of gone off at a tangent

/// Can you please explain this thing where you claim that people are demanding that words are actually removed from the English language, because that sounds like the kind of mental thing that I only hear on night buses - usually by the kind of person who runs around, brandishing a Cornish pasty, screaming "Stand back, it's about to go off!" ///

Your New Year resolution didn't last long and here we are not quite out of January, comparing what I say with what you hear from someone with a mental problem.

But to revert back to your statement, may I turn it around and since you chose to make such a comparison, perhaps you wish to enlighten me and explain who takes the decision to remove certain words from usage?

It better be good or I will throw my Cornish pasty at you.

/// Can it be coincidence that those contributors who cannot see why these terms are an any way offensive are almost certainly white, I wonder? //

That is rather racist coming from you, but then it is easy to blame the whites because they don't seem to get offended so easy as some.
What the heck is this country coming to? you have to watch your words that's been here from the word go, before we shipped in the Black People that are now through one source the Idiotic P.C.B. the people in Q can call us Honkies and laugh's their backs off, we say the P Word, look out, one person Had an argument with a Taxi Driver here in the Town, the driver called this person a white Bads, nothing said, the white person called the driver a *** P in retaliation, he ended up in clink, where are the P.C.B?
It's not racist. Stop calling people racist, it's offensive, AOG!!!
"That is rather racist coming from you, but then it is easy to blame the whites because they don't seem to get offended so easy as some."

If that is the case then kindly just stop going on and on and on and just use the term dual heritage.

I will just remind you that the pop star Jamelia is not a spokesperson for the nation.
@AOG,

so, out of the three or more of us who didn't conform to your views, in this thread, which of us (if any) "deserves to be tarred and feathered", as you put it?

Ummmm, As you know, N/Hapton has a lot of Irish & called PADD no problem they just laugh it off with no offence, you say that to the [eople in Q all hell breaks loose, who's to blame.
How on earth can pointing out that the people most outraged at not being able to use their preferred offensive terms for people of one colour/race are most likely to come from another?

And in this case, it *is* pretty certain that all of the 'moaners' are white...
And the P.C.B should not dictate the English Language either Randy.
And a lot from B/Pool
jth I repeat

I am sick to death of pandering to the so called P C brigade. I am happy with Black,White,Asian,Oriental, Jewish, Arab, etc. description of the worlds population. That's how I was taught at school & nothing has happened to make me change my opinion.

Does that make me a moaner ?

Blimey I am getting a little annoyed now almost to the limit that I may now have to withdraw my sentiments towards you.

You are now coming across as a person who just wishes to create an argument for the sake of it, been throw out of any pubs recently?
I don't find the term 'Paddy' offensive but it's usually never used in a negative way and it hardly ever happens anyway. It's used for jokes.

Jack...AOG called me racist because I said I'd watch James Bond if Idris Elba was in it!!! Go figure...

Those that were racial abusive to the AB who I was showing my sympathies with, if you are amongst them then yes you are one that should be tarred and feathered.

And is it not pretty certain that all those who are over-sensitive are black or dark skinned?
For heavens sake,

'over-sensitive'......?

I rest my case.
I fell asleep after reading this thread earlier. I had a dream that you all became friends on Facebook and ..... the black and white individual that I was cuddled up with moved and woke me up.

*If you were to ask every person on the planet to give a word that describes their ethnicity/colour/heritage there would be as many different answers to the question as there were people.

How do any of us on AB know what colour each of us are (apart from my brother - he is pink like me)?

ummmm

Obviously you have never heard many 'Paddy' jokes, but you just try and use a person from Pakistan in a joke??

/// Jack...AOG called me racist because I said I'd watch James Bond if Idris Elba was in it!!! Go figure... ///

Can you supply the full text of what I said and the context that it was said in, before you come out with such demeaning remarks?
