1 Negotiate with these people where appropriate - as argued by Anthony Lloyd in the Times yesterday, with some cogency, I have to say
2 Don't go to areas where you are at risk of kidnapping
3 Wage war on the perpetrators
Number 3 is already happening.
Do you have a fourth option?

The 'First World' countries are going to do nothing to stop this - yet. At the moment there is a lot of posturing and oratory with a bit of back-stage action. It will reach the point when they are forced to take direct action - by then it may well be too late as IS will be well-spread and have been allowed enough time to consolidate in pockets all over. Proscratination will have cost dearly, but short-termism is more convenient.
It probably won't make much difference, the clash of cultures is going to happen anyway at some point. Best we can do is to learn to get along with those who are willing to get along with us.

Are you describing the Japanese in WW2?
My point being this is nothing new really. What is different is that we allow thse people to live amongst us and preach their hatred, until recently without any problems at all.
The West needs to accept their war, intern supporters in the West and go for it where we know where they are in the World. Without hands tied behind their backs.
However to do this, the UK at least, will need to be out of the HRA or all our soldiers and Police will be up against a war crime charge.

AOG, the grim truth is that without boots on the ground we will not stand a chance of defeating them. I dont think you cna compare this to either of the two conflicts you mention.
Alternatively we can roll over and allow them to take over wherever they wish and believe me they wont stop until the West is under their control. Fancy Sharia law AOG?

There are 'boots on the ground' they are called the Peshmerga
You are all playing the game these people want you to play: almost comical outrage. Why do you think they are so keen to boast of their brutality?
As you say nothing is really new: and the brutality of ISIS is no worse than that of many others. But in your outrage you seem to blame the mysterious 'we' or 'they' for letting them get away with it. Music to their ears I would have thought

Naomi - it is fact and if you remember just over a year ago we were planning to go and fight along with them because Americans wanted us to. However if you have short memory then start eating almonds as they are good for memory boost. The reason is very clear, creating and airing civil wars in all those countries that are near Israel especially if they have army. I believe that ISIS really stands for Israeli secret Intelligence Services.
That person called Jehadi John, is white, he british, so what makes people think that he is Muslim? Only because he says Allah ho Akbar before he kills any innocent person? Why can't he be MI5 agent? Why are so many people going there to fight are British? Why don't Turkish join them? they don't have to go far. But i am sure you will not answer any of my these questions.
