There are many white actors (or come to that many other people who happen to follow other employment), that have to leave these shores so as to further their careers, so why should black actors be any different?

To back up David Oyelowo's claim that black actors are leaving the UK due to the lack of opportunities. As I said ealier (and I will check now) I thought most actors struggle.

Black actors as do white who leave these shores have stiff competition in the States with some brilliant black actors who have earned the right to be called brilliant i.e Samuel Jackson, Denzil Washington, Morgan freeman etc., wish them luck.

As a slight aside, wasnt there some comment that black actors / directors etc were being passed by in this year academy awards despite there being some very worthy candidates ie the film Selma.

Why did you ask how many white actor Spike Lee casts?

Were you implying that he doesn't cast white actors? If not, why mention him at all?

Did you make a mistake highlighting a director who demonstrably hires actors of whatever hue?

Once again in this weeks Midsomer murders a solitary black actor appeared, although she added nothing to the story line except she happened to be married to the village's white florist.
