I fail to see what possible benefit could be derived from seeing a man die in this way.
If Piers Morgan feels it is to his benefit to allow himself to be enraged by the site of the shocking spectacle, then that is a matter for him and him alone.
I cannot agree with his position that Muslims should be made to watch the film.
Why?
Are we as British people made to watch the carnage and death of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan inflicted by our bombs and troops?
No.
War is horrible enough without the need to expose people to such horror, it achieves nothing meaningful.
Although the comparison may appear trite, I assure you it is anything but -
when it snows, the BBC show a reporter, standing in the snow.
Why? I know what snow is, I understand, just tell me, I'll get the message.
The same applies here.
A man has died a horrible agonising death - I don't need to see it, I have all the information I could ever need or want - and so has everyone else.
Let the poor man have a little dignity, instead of trying to use images of his fate to sir up even more hatred. How futile is that?

No. There is nothing to be gained by viewing the actual murder.
We can all imagine the full horror of that atrocity. we do not need to witness that barbaric act to appreciate how bad it is.
We need to be part of a coordinated attack on IS. Unfortunately, the majority of Brits want to runaway or bury their heads in the sand, and are quite happy to allow IS to remain as long as they are thousands of miles from our doors.
The longer we leave yhis scurge, the harder it will be to eradicate them when we need/want to.

I don't think it's a good idea. Why victimise decent Muslims, who will already be disgusted by the incident, and will object to the ill treatment which is being justified simply because of their religious beliefs ? Benefits no one, causes ill feeling. Extreme terrorist Muslims will not change their attitude and may well cheer & applaud. So what's the point ?
No, I don’t think every Muslim should be forced to watch it. However, I disagree with those who want to restrict reporting. The whole world needs to know precisely what these people are doing. Publicising these atrocities doesn’t engender support in huge numbers for their cause – quite the reverse. With every report the world is becoming increasingly sickened and increasingly angry – and so it should.
Naomi - "Whilst I agree that some things are beyond the pale, I don’t think we should restrict reporting lest a child happens upon something they shouldn’t see. Where would that end?"
I agree - but I believe the video should not be shown for other reasons than the notion that it may be seen by children - it should not be seen by anyone without a legitimate reason, and simply stoking up your own anger - as Piers Morgan says he has done - is not a legitimate reason in my view.

Naomi - "Anger is, in my view, a very legitimate response."
No argument - but I would argue that no-one needs to stoke up their anger (impotent as it sadly is) by watching this barbaric act - as Mr Morgan did.
That smacks to me of a sense of self-righteousness - I am more angry than you because I have seen what they did.
I don't need that to be as angry as I am - and I dispute that anyone else does either.
