The litter thing is appalling - not just in towns, but along the verges of roads in the countryside. It seems worse than ever at the moment.

Linda was in Court for 'using the worst word in the English language' for which she was cleared. What is the worst word? Is it the c, f, n or p word? Best we know lest we use it.

no cleverjo, It's smokers all over. Every smoking area I have ever seen is knee deep in fag butts. There are always big bins there but it's like a genetic need with smokers, innexplicably they default to lobbing their disgustng residue on the ground even when bins are provided.

Much more importantly than the undisclosed word is that is actress seems to have forgotten who she is ! ::::

Linda Henry, who plays Shirley Carter in the BBC soap, was accused of using a racial insult outside a restaurant in Greenwich in September, shouting "Do you know who I am?"

This could get serious, so I suggest Ms Henry invests in those little name tapes that our Mum used to sew into all the school uniforms of my brothers and I when we were little. I expect you can still buy them somewhere.

I am not sure how she was cleared though, as the Traffic Warden in question had her male colleague standing beside her when the (alleged) incident happened ?

Perhaps, Mikey, English is not their first language and there has been a misunderstanding. Maybe the court thought there was collusion between the complainants re their statements. Who knows?
None of us heard all of the evidence and so really are in no position to criticise the verdict.

I have observed smokers where I live.

The majority of male smokers thoughtlessly discard butts. Women tend to be more discrete and discard them sneakily.

Only a minority dispose of them in bins.

I live in a terraced street with a rear entry, many of the smokers here, after having a smoke in the back yard, throw the butt over the back gate and into the rear entry. They are everywhere. Drives me mad !
