Any decision to make it a cultural divide would be a mixed blessing at best. One really needs to encourage integration and a trust/reliance on one's fellow service personnel regardless of their culture; or else one risks exasperating any perceived differences of an US and THEM nature. "Friendly" rivalry stemming from pride in one's regiment is one thing, building up cultural barriers is quite another.
