It was agreed on the accession of Edward VII that when a regnal number conflicted between a ruler of Scotland and a ruler of England, before the Act of Union, then the higher number would prevail. I live in Gordon district that Alex Salmond is standing for. I really hope that there is some way of stopping him, the outlook for Scotland would be a disaster should he get in. It seems that a majority will have to vote Lib-Dem as the only way get rid of him. Great pity that Malcolm Bruce is retiring. You would have thought that after being called Charles or Charlie for nearly 70 years, he wouldn't be keen to change now. Can you imagine the problems that might occur ? If could be going round Waitrose, on a Friday night, with his missus, and somebody could call out "Oi George ! " and he would just walk straight on ! It would be terribly embarrassing !
