Do You Support A Change In The Law Allowing Pubs And Bars To Reintroduce Smoking Areas?
http:// www.huf fington post.co .uk/201 3/04/30 /nigel- farage- smoking -ban-ge rmany-_ n_31829 09.html
Seems like a backward step to me, especially as bars and clubs already have 'properly ventilated smoking areas' (it's called 'outside').
What are your thoughts?
A vote winner?

The truth is, smoking has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
It is the only legally available commodity which, if used for its intended purpose, will quite possibly kill you.
It is a filthy habit - infecting the smoker and everyone around with the rank odour of stale smoke.
So although it is a vote winner, I would certainly not support a repeal in the law.

No,no,no !
Smoking will never be allowed again in public places. Nobody, apart from Farage, is even talking about rescinding the legislation. And Farage is not going to win the next Election, so this is just a dead duck from the start !
If anyone wants yet another reason not to vote UKIP, then they need look no further than this.

Outside where it gets in the lungs of passers-by? We had rooms opening to the footpath in a couple of pubs. It reeked and the footpath was littered with hundreds of butts.
Smokers played games of who could "flick it to the gutter".
Smoking areas should be sealed, operate at reduced pressure and have carbon filters on the exhaust to absorb the cocktail of poisons emitted by tobacco combustion.
Smokers are such terrible litterers they should have to return the butts of every cigarette they smoke to be entitled to replacements.

In my lifetime, smoking has gone from being an activity which Doctors were paid to advertise a brand of cigarettes, to a situation where the activity is completely disapproved of.
On that journey, I saw the paid representatives of the tobacco industry
( Forest ) appearing on TV, desperately trying to make us believe that there was no link between smoking and poor health.
Trains had non-smoking coaches, that forced people to walk through smoking coaches to get to ! Pubs and restaurants where everybody was forced to eat surrounded by a thick fog of tobacco smoke and overflowing ashtrays.
Those days are never going to come back, not just because its only Farage that wants them to.
