One could almost believe that our Prime Minister and his wife were paying an overseas visit to the sub continent, but no one would be wrong, this is Gravesend, Kent, UK.

One has to ask why do our dignities have to dress up in Sikh costume etc, do Sikhs remove their turban etc. and dress in Western clothes when taking part in our celebrations?

Salisbury council were mistaken - chicken tikka masala is an English dish. It is unheard of in the Indians subcontinent. I've seen this on several documentaries - the dish was actually invented by Indian restauranteurs in the 60s in England. It's as English as the ploughman's lunch (which has also only been popular since the 60s).
It's almost as if David Cameron is trying not to appeal to Answerbank users?

/// Oh, and to answer your question...Sikhs do wear western clothing. ///

/// Look at the picture of David Cameron sitting down. Notice something about all the Sikh blokes around him? ///

/// Notice their suits and ties? ///

/// Is that western clothing? ///

Who said male Sikhs don't wear Western clothing?

I was referring to Mrs Cameron, is she wearing Western clothing?
//I was referring to Mrs Cameron, is she wearing Western clothing? //

why would any woman - including mrs cameron - pass up an opportunity to wear a garment as exquisite as that (assuming that it did her credit and she it, and she didn't end up looking like a ship in full sail.....)

I don't suppose you have ever done any military service, but if you had you would know that you would be in great trouble if you didn't remove your head gear before going into a church.

Trouble from whom, AOG? Not the vicar.
He looks like a right prat in that first picture .

In that second picture he looks like he is thinking

'O the pretence and the things one has to do , simply to try and convince our Ethnic minorities to vote for us '
Most politicians, members of the royal family and councillors have done similar things in the past.

ANOTHEOLDGIT, I think you are losing me. You asked if Sikhs wear Western clothing and then say you were referring to Mrs Cameron. Eh? I asked about men wearing hats and you nring up the military. Since headgear is a part of their uniform and orders are that they are removed anywhere indoors (with few exceptions) hardly a fair comparison.

Returning to Mrs Cameron, she has her head covered, would she also not be allowed to wear a hat in church?
//wearing a turban is part of the Sikh faith, //

I didn't realise Cameron was a Sikh.
