Socialist Worker Behind Austerity March
I see from the BBC web site that many of the marchers against austerity cuts today are carrying Socialist Worker placards.
So I went to the Socialist Worker web site, and it is full of headlines glorifying various people going on strike. It reminded me of the "bad old days" in the 70s when people went on strike if somebody sneezed near them.
And that was EXCACTLY why Margaret Thatcher was elected in the first place (after the Labour "Winter of discontent") because people were sick to death of the country being brought to its knees by strike after strike.
And because the Socialist Worker don't like the result of the recent democratic election they decide civil disobedience is the answer.
They cant even debate the issues fairly, calling the Tories "Scum" in one headline on their web page.
God help us if this lot ever got a sniff of power, we would be back to the days of the 1970s when this country was being brought to its knees by strike after strike after strike.
Some of you young ones may not realise how bad it was, but it got so bad they even made a Carry On film about it - Carry on at your convenience.
If you don't believe it was bad read this wiki page (when LABOUR were in power) about the Winter of discontent:

Then you will know why many people keep voting Troy and don't want Labour in.

For sure one of the things that fooled folk into voting Tory in the Thatcher years was some union leaders flexing power without social responsibility. But hopefully most now realise the folly of allowing restrictions on the working class' one method of fighting for justice. The threat of withdrawing their labour if imposed on beyond reason. It was the one thing that improved the lot of the masses.

Yeah, because unlike the labour scum they wont bring the country to its knees by continually spending the money of those that have worked hard and earnt it on those that have done sweet fa, and all the scummy immigrants etc etc

Civil disobedience? They organised a march which they are allowed to do in a democratic country. If you want to silence all opposing views then I suggest you go and live in Russia.
And 64% of voters didn't vote Conservative at the General Election.

"35 years ago. Hasn't 'the Winter of discontent' drifted into the realms of history? " - perhaps sandy but there are still many who hang on to the socialist dream of a living allocated by the state acheived by shafting the "toffs", as TGL herself said the trouble is you pretty quickly you run out of other people money to spend. I do applaud these loonies though because they remind me that it was them that made TGL necessary her Ferrous shape was forged by them in the furnace of socialist dogma. Thanks. Scargill, red Robbo et all the creators of Thatcherism, gawd bless you all!
The Socialist Workers Party are not actually "behind" these marches, although you can be sure they will always be there to wave a placard or two
In fact

seem to be behind them
Bit of a damn nuisance the SWP: if I was a ruthless dictator I would use them to discredit opposition to my rule, something that does actually happen in some countries

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the fact that Martin McGuinness was one of the speakers.
