We have all seen the news regards the Port of Calais, is it fair on the HGV drivers that are trying to do their jobs and getting involved, with the Duty of the French Port Authorities? why should these drivers be intimidated by these People, who is responsible to remove the people from the Port?

As I have previously said all such vehicles should have internal CCTV cameras installed, so the driver can see who he has on board.

As regards those who hang on to the back axle, a moat like trench should be constructed and all lorries made to travel through this water trough and remain stationary in it for a few minutes, they will soon come to the surface gasping for air.

Have you ever been in the back of a fully laden truck with items of different height,width with many nooks and crannies to hide under/between?

Obviously you have not been watching your TV or reading your newspapers, as most of therm are African, so it may be unfortunate for the very few that are not, but then that is the risk of the game.

I do not know why they are allowed to roam around free, they are illegals who should be rounded up and placed in a secure unit, until they can be sent back to where they came from, the beaches of North Africa would be a good starting point.

Yes because as we truck drivers who have been on the road for 60 hrs plus without sleep are generally the most alert people in the world. Do you not think that the drivers come out of their cabs for fresh air,food,toilet breaks?
