He's a very fluent speaker. My bottom can perform similarly after a hot curry :-)
Seriously: his speech doesn't hang together. Initially He tries to use the Greek situation to claim that there is a virtual civil war between n and s Europe and that the European dream is over. The second half is a largely accurate assessment of Greece's relationship with the EU but I wonder what Mr Tsipras is thinking when told he should lead Greece out of the euro and possible the EU because plainly he does not want to do that (he can't)
He also has nothing to say about the Greek shipping magnates who leech on their countries economy . Not surprising of course for an ex right wing Tory but maybe more surprising that the supposedly left wing Syriza party are also pretty quiet on that one
If he is such a good, all round chap and a marvelous speaker, I wonder why he has found it so difficult to get elected to the House of Commons ?
He has tried 7 or 8 times, after all. The only reason that he is an MEP, is because election to the European Parliament is done on a kind of PR arrangement, the same arrangement that allowed the BNP to sit in Brussels.
Great speech to hear but not the solution that Greece wants to follow. They do want their cake and eat it and the only way they will leave the eurozone is if they are kicked out. Germany have the boots on to do that but France among others have tied the laces together.
ichkeria...LOL....you are right...I bet the good citizens of Thanet South breathed a sigh of relief when he lost, especially as he said he would resign the leadership of UKIP if he did.
We still don't know where or why the S.Thanet ballot boxes disappeared for over 6 hours. Why did the bookmakers odds change from 1/3 to 1/1 about a week before the election. I know the Labour candidate was pictured with, and endorsed the Conservative immigrant advisor around the same time.
One day the truth will out, let's hope it's not too late to save this country from the downward spiral of self destruction the liblabcon have set us on.
