More Nothing To Do With Islam...
Answers
To shed a light on Muslim's quest to convert the world, I recommend this book: The Story of Mohammed Islam Unveiled, by Harry Richardson. A bit scary to say the least.

It could be a terrorist incident judging by the targets. But America is full of young men with grudges who go on killing sprees at schools, Universities, Cinemas.
// But other officials expressed caution at jumping to conclusions.
"We are looking at every possible avenue - whether it was terrorism, whether it was domestic, international or whether it was a simple criminal act," Mr Reinhold said. //
He was arrested for Drink Driving a few months ago.

um Nigh is near but not quite there
// 'Brothers and sisters don't be fooled by your desires, this life is short and bitter and the opportunity to submit to allah may pass you by.'//
is not really consistent with the ideas of predestination in Islam
where specifically whatever will be will be
so as the King of Saudi said of 1000 deaths crushed by the crowds at the Kaabah - if that had not happened then they all would have died at that instant anyway
here - if he hadnt shot the four - someone else would and/or they would have died anyway....
and so i would agree
Nothing to do with Islam
I can see a clear parallel to an IRA bomber saying he had set off the bomb as a result of intense desire for peace and his deep Roman Catholic faith and others protesting: oh come on! come on!

well you dont waste words Ny
The idea of strong predestination is that it would have happened anyway
and is inconsistent with his statement of missing the opportunity.
[If it is predestined then the opportunity cannot be missed]
reasoning int wonky - the premisses are - to us...
[ completely conflicts with the christian idea of free will - but surprisingly is consistent with God's knowledge of the Future ]

/// I think you need to narrow the perameters a little Svejk - it is something to do with Islam - obviously, but far more to do with the effects of a depraved few extremists on the mind of a disturbed individual. ///
So nothing there to worry about Andy?
The only trouble is that in this case it may be a disturbed individual, but as we have experienced in the past, there are very much more than a 'few depraved extremists' corrupting the minds of even more greater number of disturbed individuals.

This is the work of a disturbed individual. What we do not yet know is whether he was radicalised and this was a terrorist attack, or whether he was just a nutcase who happened to be a muslim.
Last month a disturbed individual, Dylann Roof, killed 9 people in Charleston. He himself worshipped at a Lutheran Church. No one jumped to the conclusion that Christianity warped his mind. Likewise, until a link is proven, we should not say his rwligion caused him to attack the Marines.

No, I would not say that AOG - nor do I believe that it is anything by a seriously worrying on-going situation.

A fair point - my use of the word 'few' becomes increasingly inaccurate, except when measured against the billions of non-radicalised Muslims. But your point is valid - it not 'a few' in this context, sad to say,

I wondered how long it would be before someone associated this slaughter with the Christian faith, in a way to try and make excuses for Islam.
Yes disarranged monster Dylann Roof did in fact worship at a Lutheran Church, but he also slaughtered Christian worshippers in their church.
*** Abdulazeez had this week posted at least two Islam-focused writings on a blog, including one in which he described life as "short and bitter." He also said that Muslims should not miss "the opportunity to submit to Allah." ***
Also his father was once accused of allegedly giving money to a group associated with terrorism.

I haven't associated it with Christianity, quite the opposite. I said no one blames his Christianity.
He was a Kuwaiti. They follow an extreme form of Islam called wahabbism. It is entire possible, even probable that his mental state was influenced by his religion. But we do not yet know. He was arrested earlier this year for drink driving, it would be just as easy to jump to the probably the wrong conclusion he was drunk when he killed those Marines.
Let's hear a bit more from the authorities before we go on another Islam is evil rant.
