Because the cause, the catalyst, the event that provoked the attack was without doubt the crash.

"I have never said the accused is not guilty, or indeed guilty - because has hasn't been to trial yet. "

well you seem to have opinions on just about everything else on here that you seem able to type pararaph after paragraph on , sooo lets have your esteemed opinion on this .... in one word YES guilty or NO not guilty, there you go, see how easy Ive made it for you.
ummmm

/// Mosiac...things like this will always happen. Even nice people are capable of snapping. He's just snapped at the wrong person 'probably' ///

And who would have been the 'right' person?
Probably not half as much as he deserves and then he'll end up in a nice warm cell, being fed 3 hot meals a day with no worries or responsibilities.
Well, AOG, my idea of snapping doesn't end in murder. But clearly for some it does and the person/people who caused such anger are not always the one it's taken out on.

Like some of shootings in the US....kid spends years getting bullied by a few and walks in and open fires...killing people that have never done them any harm.

imo...something was simmering under the surface just waiting to come out.

People snap in different ways and for different reasons. But that's not to say you can make excuses for such behavior. He's a murderer, he should be treated as such.
he does look a sad little character doesnt he - 30 years + at HMP
just for the record prisoners do pay for their TV.

You do seem to get somewhat het up after you have read my posts, I have no idea why I upset you so much - but if my posts are bothering you - and clearly they are, you need either to learn to calm down, and take them as they are - simple expressions of thought and response to others - or ignore them.

Either of those options suits me fine.

As far as 'Yes Guilty' or No Not Guilty' - I have no comment.

Not because I am being awkward, or trying to inflame you even further, but because I have nothing to base an answer on, except speculation, and it should be clear to you from all my posts on this thread, and others, that speculation is something I don't do.

Well lets hope some on here are not picked for the jury, I take it most are taking their knowledge of what happened from the press reports and TV coverage.

One can make up all sorts of conspiracy theories, "what if the two knew each other"?, "What if the retired solicitor had been following the car in front, and had purposely smashed into it when he caught up with it?", "what if the knife belonged to the stabbed man, and the other wrestled it off him"? etc etc.

Which proves not one of us knows exactly what took place, so as suggested let us wait until after the trial.
Absolutely AOG.

Speculation is human nature - as is jumping to conclusions, but some on here seem to resent those of us who prefer to wait for the legal process to run its course - they would prefer us all to condemn the accused right here and right now.

Fortunately, the law doesn't work that way.
Exactly.
The voice of reason, Anotheoldgit.
Excellent points, Andy-Hughes.
I'm viewing it as a road rage incident.
You haven't got back to me on my post at the top of the page, andy.

AOG, are you saying that posters should not speculate?
Talbot - I assume you mean this post - //Because the cause, the catalyst, the event that provoked the attack was without doubt the crash.//

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it is not 'without doubt' - it is absolutely with doubt until the court case, and evidence is heard.

Until than your observation is speculation - nothing more - and that is my response to what you have said.

So - was your 'silly' observation aimed at me - and does this answer it?
Talbot - //AOG, are you saying that posters should not speculate? //

If I may come in here - I think that speculation is entirely human nature, as I have said, but what is not acceptable is the vitriol being meted out to myself and others, simply because we put forward a view that speculation is what it is - it is not fact, it has no basis in fact, and it is not a position from which to reach a sound conclusion.
The police need to stop putting out speculative information then , andy.
I think you're the man to have a word in their ear!
Thanks Talbot - leave it with me!
but what is not acceptable is the vitriol being meted out to myself and others,

lol, what vitriol?
Check out baz's post - second from the top.
What a silly argument. The fact is someone brutally stabbed an elderly man to death and that someone, whoever he may be, is without doubt guilty. That is not speculation.

I've no idea what his sentence will be - probably less than his crime warrants, as is often the way.
