Oh FGS. A man was stabbed to death, man was arrested by armed police, said man has been charged with murder...all within a short space of time. This isn't like the hCristopher Jefferies case!!

I understand it was witnessed and on CCTV no doubt they have the right man. I can not see him getting a 'not guilty'. But the question is ' anyone want to predict what this savage will get''?
He is charged with murder and that is the one crime for which there is only one penalty and that is 'Life'.
There will be a 'tariff ' set of about 15 years is my guess. That will mean more postings from the 'hang them high' brigade who say it is too little.

It isn't normal to react this way, so hopefully the ensuing enquiry will establish how this tragedy came to happen, so give pointers how to avoid repetition. Most perpetrators have an explanation even if they're monsters. Such sympathy for the families.

As has been advised, we still work on that ‘innocent until proven guilty’ system, which rather gets in the way of a good old self-righteous rant, but it is still the law, and amen to that.

So far, nothing has been confirmed to indicate that this man is ‘a savage’ – only that he has committed a savage act, which is not the same thing.

As advised, let’s wait until he has been properly tried, and hopefully, the media will eventually stop piling on the mass of ‘compassion’ for the victim, which hinders the prospect of a fair trial.

There is no doubt that the victim did not deserve to die in this way, and as the media have reminded us ceaselessly, he was a wonderful caring individual and a pillar of the community but –

Let’s not forget that under a just legal system, the court should work the same way if the victim was a penniless heroin-addicted rent boy, because justice does not operate a sliding scale of more punishment for killing ‘nice’ people.

Everyone deserves protection under the law, and justice for crimes of violence against them, and a fair trial is part of that process.
Shall we postpone any gruesome guessing games until after that?

There has to be something really strange with a person who reacts to stress or a seeming sleight by killing someone - whether it be built up stress, environmental stress or a perception of aggression within the aggressor - whatever.In our society, normal people just don''t kill other people - if they do then they are murderers and if found guilty they should be subject to the law.

unless they are deemed criminally insane. no one yet has touched on the fact the alleged murder may be suffering from a psychotic mental disorder.
