'Best partner' indeed, Obama will suck up to anyone who the US can use to carry out their own foreign policy for them.

Well as a keen EUphobe, I do take on board what the president says but he’s missing the point, leaving or staying is the simplistic dichotomy but in realty I think most who say they want to leave, including me, mean they don’t want what the EU has become. I think there is room for agreements, treaties and general cooperation, like we signed up for in 1974 what we don’t want is the creeping federalisation, the failed “currency” and the silly rules about everything. We don’t like being the member of a club where we are one of only two that pay subs. We don’t want to be ruled by faceless unelected bureaucrats.
He is looking after the interests of his own country. He is head of a UK friendly country and believes he might has influence over the EU by having influence with us.
He seems mistaken in that he thinks we have any reasonable influence in the EU when the reality is they dictate more to us than we get to influence them.
