mikey...progressing thanks. I see my Cardiologist in 4 weeks time and i shall return to the Club whatever he advises...............sitting behind the desk in a half cupped bra and little knickers under his white coat, did indeed invalidate much of his advice though ;-)

I want his number, I am free on Friday, looks like he knows how to party.
ummmm
He was with adult WOMEN in the privacy of his own flat.They were not rent boys and were not under age.No big deal.OK possession of Class A drug. A Crime Yes.
But for his own use? Stupid.
A security risk? Highly possible and that is really incompatible with his position.
He was singing like a canary to those Toms whilst full of the white stuff and in a position of knowledge of the goings on in the running of this country.

The only way that he should be c
The difference between them and the 'common man' is cash....

Well we are certainly seeing a large display of "taking the moral high ground" from the usual suspect here. :-)
I feel sorry for the Prossies, fancy having a guy like that hovering over you. Ah well it takes all sorts I suppose.

/// I started this thread, and I was aware that Sewel is a Labour Peer, ///

Did you not type this;

/// Lord Sewell Quits !
No, I hadn't heard of him either ! ///

blows Grandmaster Flashes theory of athletes rejecting it and governor's correcting it out of the water, we can still assume that gangsters, punks, and smugglers are thoroughly respected though

Rang-dang-diggidy-dang-a-dang
Rang-dang-diggidy-dang-a-dang
Rang-dang-diggidy-dang-a-dang-diggidy-dang-a-dang-diggidy-dang-a-dang
is that not on a different thread AOG?

But there have been claims that some peers have been "clocking on" to receive the money without undertaking any substantial work in the Lords. One peer, Lord Hanningfield, was suspended for a year in 2014 for claiming allowances which he was not entitled to >>. this is what i am on about //
svejk. I have got a heart of stone and I'm laughing anyway. The B(iased)BC will say it was an editorial error and make a hollow half hearted apology and pass it off as of no significance. But it is. It follows a deliberate policy of misinformation that they know will be taken as fact by the majority of the captive audience, who will miss the correction, letting it pass into accepted fact.
I've come into this debate rather late. I usually agree with Mikey on political matters, but in this case I couldn't give a fiddling wosname about what any member of the HoL does in his spare time. Instead of hounding him out of office, the ridiculous expenses claims should be thought about.
agree, CloverJo. I'm not a fan of being lectured on the importance of Victorian values by politicians who are simultaneously having affairs with Edwina Currie; but as long as they're not saying one thing while doing another, I couldn't care less.

Sqad...to answer your question at 10:12...honesty and probity would be the minimum I would expect. Sewel seems to have failed on both counts here.
Mikey...probity?......not necessarily a human talent, as for honesty, c'mon mikey, when faced with embarrassment, first lie, deny and then deny thrice if necessary.

Human failings mikey.......afflicts us all and politicians are certainly "human."
According to the Cabinet office there is no mechanism to strip Sewel of his title.
Question Author
Sqad...I agree with your last sentence...to err is to be human. But what pees me off about this case is that this idiot spent 3 days denying that he did anything wrong, only resigning after he had no real choice. He is a liar.
LOL^^ O.K mikey.
fortunately the PM will try to combat this by introducing lots more peers

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jul/28/david-cameron-to-appoint-more-tory-peers-to-the-house-of-lords

There arlready 783 of them, second in number only to the Chinese congress.
But only a handful ever turn up for work!!
