No. His lifestyle is his choice. We are told it is not a medical condition to be gay so what funding does he think he is entitled to? Try a charity or Stonewall or Terence Higgins but NOT the taxpayer.
Why don't you stop asking questions and give us your considered opinion and reasons?
Isn't that how AB works hc? People ask questions and (hopefully!) receive answers and or opinions?
Like retro says its not a medical conditon apparently, so they shouldnt get anything
You have got to be kidding ! You couldn't make it up.

No he shouldn't, if he has worries about backlash, why did he go on the programme.
This muslim from London is a performing gay. I assume he/her does it for payment. If not find another occupation, more useful, and do not advertise that he is gay and muslim then he may feel safer. His insecurity is of his/her own making.
After all. Some would have us believe there are thousands of genuine muslims who are fleeing for their lives to come to the UK to find peace and sanctuary.
If this muslim thinks he is not safe here perhaps he should warn his fellow Islamists in Calais.
He could always change his religion.
Stonewall has received at least £45000 from government funding (the taxpayer) and in the past the Terence Higgins Trust has received millions from the government.

In that case enough is enough. As I said no more required from the taxpayer as Stonewall and Higgins appear more than adequately provided for already. He should plead his lifestyle difficulty's with them.
Nice ploy of his to get some advertising for his show though.
No, no one should receive anything from the tax payer because of a religion or sexual orientation in this country. And that includes the Terrance Higgins and other Charities
I would not subscribe to the notion that people should be denied support if they are living as a supressed minority - whether sexual or religious.

That said, it does not set a good example for someone to appear on national television working in employment which is going to be seriously at odds with others of his religious community.

In an ideal world, this gentleman should be able to walk down his own street in full drag singing 'I Am What I Am' at the top of his voice, but we must accept that this is far from an ideal world, and a degree of compromise has to be entered into in the interests of personal safety.

Maybe one day gay Muslims will be accepted by their peers, but today is not that day.

Working to change predjudices is one thing - actively provoking them is another.

Yeah...and if Gay people are worried about criticism and ridicule why don't they just pretend they are straight?

I'm sure if a non muslim gay was getting death threats the police would be involved too.
Talbot - "Yeah...and if Gay people are worried about criticism and ridicule why don't they just pretend they are straight?"

Why on earth should anyone 'pretend' to fit in with a majority that is hostile to them?

If you moved to Brixton, would you 'pretend to be black' if you encountered predjudice from your neighbours?

Blimey Andy some of them are still living in the middle ages, it's going to take them years upon years to drag themselves into anything like the 21st century, it will most likely be the 30th century by then.

That is certainly true, but hopefully the majority of those with that mind set live in a country whose terrain and living conditions matches their unreconstructed view of the world.

I think the majority living in the West are far more enlightened - well, about some issues anyway!
