// Yes, Mosaic and just a few feet under the soil!
What I find intriguing is, why was they toppled and by whom ?//
and I think Mosaic - if she has recovered from the battering in the immigrant/refugee thread - is the person to ask as she lectures in arch and anth
but neva mind you have my opinion first
if one culture ( stone/bronze springs to mind ) displaces another on sign is that the later circle is off-centre or intersects
like this scroll down to easter aquahorthies piccy

whereas at Durrington walls the stone have been laid and then earth tipped over them to form a wall - this give continuity not disconnection ( or conquest )
which means that the two cultures were related to each other and the later one succeeded and built on the earlier
I can tell you this will keep the archeologists yakking for years.....

Archaelogists digging at Stonehenge in parallel to the work going on at Durrington Walls have discovered a neolithic manuscript which, it is believed, will change everything we know an understand about prehistoric writings.

Nothing, Daisy......a little injection of some humour, though some would say that DFS belong to past times to begin with.
My view is that if they can work out the orientation the stones were placed in to the ground, then go for unearthing it.....and who knows what else is down there. The fascinating thing in all of this is the power of GPR and sat-photography
