The reason the bill was £1.7billion higher was because our GDP now includes economic activity from prostitution, drugs, crime. Funny that you want to credit Conservative Pilicies for that economic activity, but I'm not going to argue with you.

There was never any prospect of the UK not paying this bill. Osborne had agreed to the change in the calculation of GDP a year earlier.
At the time, Cameron's and Osborne's fake indignation was noted. A quick look back at this previous thread might help ABers.
