Was it after the first time or the fiftieth? Im sorry but it just doesn't wash. Yes it was very wrong and she should be sacked, but abuse? He was 15, come on, he must have thought all his Christmases had come at once.

Well, he might find that all good looking older women won't be as accommodating in the future. That could leave a young man with severe psychological problems.
That's a sort of emotional scarring.
We discussed this fully some time ago, and most people came to the opinion that every case is different and the woman deserved what happened to her.

Dave..I am not criticizing you in any way, but if the child had been a girl, and the Teacher a man, would you be saying the same thing ?
I am sure that the boy has heard the phrase, or read it in the media.

It's a stock phrase for use in cases of child abuse - obviously its meaning is a moveable feast.

dave50 - //He was 15, come on, he must have thought all his Christmases had come at once.//

That is the sort of thinking that underlines the point I made on OAG's thread quoted by Baldric.

The notion that a boy must think sexual abuse is wonderful, and a girl must find it a dreadful ordeal are hoary old media and cultural stereotypes that often don't fit into the reality of what has happened.

I don't know if the boy in question is indeed 'scarred' by the experience, but the media exposure will not have been pleasant, for him or his family.
Did you mean scared?

Scared means frightened.
Scarred means a mark, physical or mental, left after an incident. Scarred for life.
Looks like wimmins rights have neglected this particular area of inequality.

She's a predatory sex offender who deserves to be punished as a man would. Of course she's a bit sexy and slinky so may well end up on Strickly or I'm a Sleb, Get Me Out Of Here.
M'luds n ladies need to get a grip.

Somehow, I doubt it!!!
We have rules and laws to deal with this kind of thing. While it is obvious that the boy probably enjoyed himself, that is not the point !

It is unlikely that this woman will ever teach again.
//While it is obvious that the boy probably enjoyed himself...///

I don't think it is at all 'obvious' and the teacher should have felt the full force of the law, exactly as if the genders has been reversed.

Sorry Gromit, yes I meant scarred.
\\\\\revealed last night that they had sex 50 times - \\\\

"Mum, I hate this sex thing, can you send a note to the teacher to say that I am ill?"

Sqad....lol !

Of course he enjoyed ! But I have already said that she was still guilty of abuse, in the eyes of the law, and deserves her punishment.
and she forced him to do it 50 times, Oh how he must have suffered, poor boy!

I bet that boy is still boasting about it now and will be for years to come!
I reckon he only became scarred for life when she told him she was pregnant
RATTER15 - //and she forced him to do it 50 times, Oh how he must have suffered, poor boy!

It is easy to be flippant about the situation, but fortunately society has moved on, and the traditional flippancy and male humour has been replaced by the very real notion that emotional damage can and does occur as a result of encounters like this.

I doubt the boy will be 'boasting' at all.
I think the point here is that she was in a position of trust and she abused that position - would I have wanted her to teach my boys - never in a million years
They may have felt differently

That is the essential point, which is it easy to miss when people are busy laughing and back-slapping at the 'joy' of it all for the child in question.

Children at this age are exploring their sexuality, and they are vulnerable, and exploitation of the vulnerability by people in positions of trust is an abhorrent betrayal, and not a subject for misplaced humour.
andy-hughes.......of course! of course! we all know that it was wrong, but clearly there IS another side to this......the human side....."back slapping and barrack room humour" is a normal reaction, particularly on the part of males, lads and teenagers.

I doubt very much that this boy will suffer much, if any psychological trauma.

There is that side to this - but it's time there wasn't.

It perpetuates stupid shallow stereotyping while ignoring the seriousness of the issues involved for all the other people - apart from this child - who are involved.
\\\\There is that side to this - but it's time there wasn't. \\\

Right.
