It's an odd inference that middle class people are allowed to smoke cannabis. They are only able to do it if they do it in secret, and don't get caught.
Is she suggesting that her Rastafarian boyfriend NEVER smokes cannabis in secret?
If he does have a secret smoke, then he is in EXACTLY the same position as the so-called middle class people.
Her suggestion that they are somehow treated differently? Blatantly playing the "race card". Also, playing the "class card".
Was it TTT who described this lady as a bit thick? If so ... nail, head, etc ... because she evidently is bit thick.

Actually, maybe it's unfair to call her a bit thick.
Perhaps she is a highly intelligent lady who thinks that she can sneak ridiculous non sequiturs past the public because she thinks it is we who are a bit thick.
In which case, she's just patronising.
(patronising is when you talk to people as though they are less intelligent than you)

No it's religious
"Is she suggesting that her Rastafarian boyfriend NEVER smokes cannabis in secret? "
No, she is telling you that he has never used cannabis

Don't think she said they were being treated differently, you seem to be the one trying to play the race card

I'm starting to think she may not be the only one

Ouch!
But ...
// Don't think they said they were treated differently ... //
"Those that are ... middle to upper class can partake in illicit substances in their university days without ever jeopardising their future career ...
but for many people from a working class background, a drugs related conviction, no matter how minor, can have a devastating impact on their life chances in terms of employment."
So she might slightly be suggesting they are treated differently.
Middle class ... "no effect" on career
Working class ... "devastating effect" on future employment
That might be interpreted as being treated differently?
(doesn't mean Steg is wrong about me being a bit thick, though)

//@ToraToraTora
you have to be a couple of cans short of six pack if you think the right to take drugs is a oooman rite!
//
Is drinking alcohol a human right?
If yes, then why are other ways of getting inebriated forbidden?
On the flipside, if legalising cannabis brings in extra revenue, won't it all get eaten up treating the paranoia cases or the fallout from the things they do?

As though they are *less knowledgeable* than you, surely? If you thought someone was genuinely less intelligent, you wouldn't even bother explaining.
Stupidity and ignorance are not the same thing.
