This drives me mad every year - people start wearing poppies earlier and earlier. The record was broken this year when I saw someone in the audience of Question Time wearing one last night - OCTOBER 15th ! Do these people think that by wearing a poppy so ridiculously early it shows they care more? Don't get me wrong, I fully support the wearing of poppies and what they stand for; but, please, leave it till November.
We noticed the early appearance of poppies tonight on T.V. presenters as well, brainiac. Ridiculous! 1st November should be the time. More impact, same income.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to be driven to distraction! Actually, by wearing them for so long it seems LESS respectful than leaving it till the run up to Remembrance Sunday. Ah well, like Christmas, it just gets hijacked....
A nice thought but an early consideration. Maybe the wearer is a little confused and is a month ahead of us. One should make allowances. 1st November for me as long as I have my marbles. Am collecting the dated British Legion enamel pin poppies for as long as I can. Hope my sons carry on the collection each year when I am brown bread.
It annoys me that everyone on tv has to wear a poppy at that time of year, regardless of their political or charitable affiliations. It annoys me even more when some presenters get a posh, blingy one.
I support the charity but don't agree with the forcedness of it.
