There appears to have been an explosion in Cardiff. Probably not terrorist linked. Await further details.

So not too much concern about the unaccounted-for or the injured, just a platform for fart jokes & reminiscence. Wow.

Notwithstanding your rather terse and WW2 style of delivery, Togo, further details are available in the link you provided.

Message ends. :-P
And that was the news with Adar Adele reading it. :-)
or even Alvar Lidell!! :-)
Showing your age Retro, I bet you even remember Reginald Bosanquet

// The Geese will be flying backwards over your house tonight.//

Does that mean the winter will 'go away'.
Let's hope the injuries are not too serious and the numbers hurt don't rise.

I will never forget dear old Reggie Bosanquet.
He read a news item back in the 70s during the Fireman's strike.
Apparently a grateful old lady invited an army crew of a Green Goddess fire appliance into her house for tea and biscuits after they had rescued her moggie from a nearby tree. She waved them off as they reversed off her drive and ran over the cat.!!!

Reggie couldn't contain himself and exploded in laughter live on air. He got a rollikin but bounced back as we do. :-)
The only newsreader to read the news minus his trousers
Incidently his father Bernard was a cricketer who invented the 'googly'

Wow.
Sadly the Steel Industry is a hazardous occupation. BSC Margham,Port Talbot had it's own hospital and ambulance sevice as well as a Fire Brigade within that vast complex.
Every so often the blast furnaces had to be relined with brick and fireclay I was told. The men never waited the proscribed time to let the furnace cool down. (Loss of earnings or bonus I suppose whilst unproductive.)
They put on asbestos suits and B.A. and climbed into those still hot ovens to get them going again.
Please forgive me for diverting away from your thread Togo, and at the same time apologising to all those directly involved in this fragility.

But the nostalgic mention of past news outlets made me remember The Gaumont British News.

It would seem that two people are still unaccounted for. More sadness for the hard pressed steel workers to bear.
Togo...at this rate there won't be any steelworkers left to get killed !

Let's have a few more flatulence jokes and memories of old newsreaders, I'm sure that will lighten the moment...
