There was an interview on television news last night with a Parisian who witnessed the last minutes on earth of one of the suicide bombers. He saw him in a restaurant rest room and he was sweating heavily and seemed very agitated.
Instead of detonating his bomb in the restaurant and adding to the number of casualties he walked into the street and exploded the bomb without harm to anyone but himself.
Could he have seen the error of his ways?

I am doubtful.
It is impossible to know what he was thinking and why he acted as he did.
We do not know what his orders were. The plan all along might have been to blow up in a highly public visible place rather than inside a cafe.
Unless we know for sure that he was supposed to blow up in the restaurant, the fact that he blew up in the street does not prove last minute guilt or compassion.
Someone somewhere is putting an interpretation on his actions without knowing the facts of his target.
No.

The witness just described what he saw. I supplier the interpretation, such as it is.
Who knows ?
One less scum to harm people, no sympathy for the scum.
Do you know when this happened in the sequence of events?

His job could have been to start the panic. Or get the police going in one direction while the others started the slaughter in the other direction.

I'm not sure of the sequence of events. It may have been as you say, ummm.
interesting, possibly he did, pointless detonating the way he did otherwise but if he did see the light why did he not just remove the explosives and disappear?
If he did see 'the error of his ways', Sandy, then he will surely take his place in heaven as one who repented transgressions here on Earth.

Aye, people actually believe that stuff.

He could just as easily have been suffering from food poisoning and was looking for a toilet. In any event, one less to worry about.
TTT, I read years ago that the bombs are fitted with anti tamper devices, just in case the dupes suddenly wake up to the reality of the situation.
One good thing for him, he's spread the word, Idiot.
I see doug, makes sense but even then he could have given himself up without detonating and let the UXD mob deal with it. Maybe he figured his mates would shoot him anyway.
just thought, possibly he was detonated remotely by someone else at a specific time, so he walked out into the street at the allotted time.
Or maybe he thought his family would be targeted, and that having got so far life was no longer attractive to him. But again it is all speculation. No one knows.
The important thing about a suicide bomber is not the suicide but the bomb itself, to kill as many as he can. This doesn't seem to have happened. I feel he must have seen the error.
No, they are devoid of human decency !
Probably pushed the button 10 times in the restaurant, gave up, walked out and kaboom . Don't you just hate it when that happens.
weren't the terrorists so high on drugs that they were incapable of rational thought?

Not as mush as I hate it when people use tragic situations as a platform for their poor attempts at humour.
Wasn't trying to be funny. Suggesting a reason why it went down the way it did.
As an aside, most of us left school a long time ago and don't need pompous asses like you, hughes, telling us what we're allowed to say. So why don't you just wind your neck in once in a while.
