Good job we don't need an aircraft carrier as well.
Well wee Salmond and Sturgeon could do it between them.Let them find it.
We'd normally check for ourselves, but in these days of austerity we've waived the rules.

Perhaps mikey want to fly them in with R.A.F. protection.
brilliant! I wish I had done so.....
'Someone needs to hold the purse strings sensibly' .

Like George?????????
we would do a lot better to scrap Trident and build an aircraft carrier instead.
I would just let Trident loose on their main command centre and create a local Middle Eastern second sun.
or even centres.....

With big koff nuclear missiles bristling its deck? I Agree then.

You couldn't make it up !

Still laughing at baldric and Treasure Island. 'She who must be obeyed ' Is ready to activate parental control option.
Well I think the aircraft carrier role is more suited to invasion tactics and even humanitarian relief. They provide a combat air patrol on the other side of the world (Argentina/Falklands) should we need to deploy Amphibious forces. Remember the invaders are normally on the back foot and need all the CAP they can get. Not feasible in the South Atlantic when your air cover operates out of RAF Coningsby.
A few nuclear powered subs are always handy to focus the enemy's mind.
HMS Conqueror/ Belgrano. Who want's to scrap Trident by the way?
Mr Putin will always be aware that a RN nuclear equipped Sub is lurking within distance to unleash a whole basket of Mushrooms however.Once the flat tops are off the slips we better think about the aircraft they carry as well. :-)
