I've thought the same thing Divebuddy - however, even though the family is very wealthy and powerful, the reprecussions to family members of smuggling him out of the country would be severe don't you think?

Agree it's abeen ashambles and this is too long coming. Glad for the Steenkamp family though that this may be somewhere closer to justice for them.

Agree DB - having lived in Africa for 25 years I know that to be true but I still think we such a high profile case it would be very hard - I sincerely hope OP has to pay the fullprice for his actions.

The first trial was nothing but a farce.

Most people said he was a murderer and we were right !

What I can't understand is why the original judge made such a serious error in interpreting the law on such a high profile case. It almost makes me wonder if she took a 'backhander' to downgrade the offence.

As I intimated when this crime occurred, this was an open and shut case and should have been dealt with in weeks not years.
