....look at the joy he brought to everybody at the Mildmay, and what a marvelous testament his visit was to his late Mum. Lead on Harry !

Blimey - I didn't think anyone could (or would) use this thread to have a go at Harry! He is a Prince. I am a partial royalist, and a pragmatist. The core members of the royal family have jobs. They are royalty. That's their job. Sniping at Harry for not being on an equal footing as the rest of his unit in the forces doesn't make sense. He's a prince. He absolutely...

AOG - //Where in your link does it say that his visit brought joy to everyone at the Midmay? //
I would suggest that the photographs of everyone smiling would infer that Harry's visit brought a lot of pleasure to staff and patients.
What would you consider a 'proper job' for a member of the Royal Family?
Surely this is exactly what they do.

/// AOG, he's been in the army for ten years, so hardly slacking. What would you like him to do now? ///
Perhaps something similar to what his brother is doing.
Yes he has served 10 years in the Army, but not on an equal footing to everyone who joins the forces, and apart from two operational tours in Afghanistan, did very little actual service, what with with his extended tours, visits etc. not many career servicemen get to do all that, and then if they choose to come out after only ten years service, they have to get a 'proper job'.

Prince Harry can hardly be described or thought of as 'on an equal footing' with almost anyone outside his immediate family, even though he would clearly wish at times that he was.
The clue is in the 'Prince' bit we use when we refer to him.

Well I suppose Prince Harry actually fought in a combat zone twice
Did a little better than his father though who put up a bit of a black during his distinguished naval career. Took command of HMS Bronington in 1976 and crashed it. No court martial ??
Took the controls of a Queens flight 146 and ran off the runway on landing in some Scottish Isle.
Harry served with bravery and didn't cost the taxpayer anything. :-)
Give him a chance. He has to find a suitable filly and produce kids before he settles down to his duties and career.
