Could it be that they want to benefit from the new left wing suporters churned out by left wing teachers before they grow older and locate some sense?

No
I’m all for it. For too many years we’ve not had the right people to finally nail down the answer to that ‘favourite colour’ question ;-)
Definitely yes.
Doesn't Mr Caneroj want the voting age reduced before the referendum? What happened about that?
The voting age should certainly be reduced. Everything is skewed in favour of the old these days. As someone once said: the youth rebelled in the 60s when they never had it so good. Now would be a much more appropriate time.
Caneroj? Cameron!
The e-mails I get asking for support for "votes for kids" tend to be from the Libs. I don't think you should assume a left majority in the pre-adult section of society.
// before they grow older and locate some sense?//

well your growing old hasnt been associated with an obvious location of sense, so why do think it will occur in others

just a thought ....

yeah and as you grow older and older you get so much sense location that they call it a second childhood - so THAT's where the name came from .....

PP: "well your growing old hasnt been associated with an obvious location of sense, so why do think it will occur in others" - ahhhh the old lefty, you have a different view so you must be thick tort, that didn't take long did it. Thanks PP you do me immense service.
"the old lefty, you have a different view so you must be thick..."

Says the guy who talks about left-wingers "locating some sense" only when they grow older?

That avatar looks familiar but I just can't place it, TTT.
When did you last go in a school and see these left wing teachers?

well I went to school some time ago so I am going on views/behaviour I pick up from today's youngsters.
Because they are gullible and actually believe it is possible to create a socialist utopia across Europe.
... for the same rreaas
^^ Ignore.
... for the same reason that Salmond lowered it, to skew the results.
Why are Tories so desperately scraping the barrel to demonise Labour at every opportunity ?

Could it be they're terrified that Joe Public is becoming increasingly aware of what an incompetent and self-serving Party the Tories are.

"Why are Tories so desperately scraping the barrel to demonise Labour at every opportunity ?" - that's our job.

"Could it be they're terrified that Joe Public is becoming increasingly aware of what an incompetent and self-serving Party the Tories are. " - well if they are they chose not to act on it 6 months ago.
kids in state schools are being brainwashed for the most part by young leftie teachers and theyre being brainwashed into believeing the eussr is the way forwards....I have a couple of friends who are young teachers and they are blatantly guilty on both counts above and judging by the utter schite they post on FB so are most of their teacher friends....
Neither Mr Caneroj nor Mr Cameron wants the voting age reduced. The Commons rejected the proposal but the House of Lords (principally the Labour and LibDem peers) tried to resurrect the matter (forgetting that their function is to examine proposals passed by the Commons not to resurrect those they have rejected). However, the matter has now finally been rejected.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/dec/14/lords-reject--lower-eu-referendum-voting-age-16

It is clear that, had this proposal succeeded (which was to be solely for the EU referendum) the pressure would then be on to extend the franchise to all elections. The reason why the LibDems and particularly Labour would like that is that 16 and 17 year olds are fresh out of State education (in fact they cannot leave it now until they are 18 – one good reason alone to reject the proposal). Being freshly educated and thus knowing everything they are far more likely to vote for a Socialist government (with about 99.9% of State school teachers being of that persuasion) and far more likely to vote for the UK’s continued membership of the EU (once again because of their recent education which has almost certainly informed them that a single European State is the only way that the UK will survive).

Under 18’s do not, in the main, pay taxes. Most of them do not work. They appear as “children” in criminal proceedings and are afforded special measures. (And along will come somebody in a minute to tell me “Ah, but me they can join the Army”. So they can. But not without parental consent and they do not get involved in front line operations).

Schoolchildren, I’m afraid, do not warrant a vote.
I haven't really made my mind up 100% about the voting age issue. I can see good reasons on both sides of the argument.

But if someone held a gun to my head, and made me make a decision, it would probably be to stay as we are.
