Surely one simply chooses not to pee perpendicula rly to the wall but at an angle ? Provides a game of trying to bounce it off onto a passer by.

mikey - // am out and about all day and if it weren't for Tesco, ASDA, etc, I would be in difficulties. At my age, I do have an enlarged prostate, and it does cause problems.
More toilets please ! //
From your personal experience, are you happy to confirm that you do not make a habit of voiding your bladder where and when the fancy takes you - in the street or not?

//Most of the blokes I see spraying doorways, walls, fences and hedges around Blackpool certainly don't seem old enough to be suffering from prostrate troubles or alzheimers.......//
Of course, when the older blokes were younger they didn't suffer from conditions the elderly are prone to - and possibly went out more.

My 'legal' reference was merely a little light-hearted banter.
I think you have got your serious head on, after speaking about your late father - please don't take my question to Mikey seriously - I am sure he won't.

Well it seems that the case is proved that men who urinate in the streets are drunks who have over indulged in alcohol.??
Take a stroll down Oxford Street and surrounding area in the middle of the night and early hours. There you will see homeless who, excuse the pun,do not have a pot to pee in let alone have money to get drunk ,sleeping in every shop doorway. Westminster Council used to close the public toilets in the Marble Arch subway complex because of cottaging abuses.
Early in the morning at about 5.30am you will see a Westminster Council (WC) water bowser driving slowly up Oxford street spraying liberal amounts of water on to the pavements and into the shop doorways. This is not an early wake up call. It is to get rid of the stenchof urine on and around the shop frontage. Not all people who urinate in the street are necessarily drunk as has been stated.

//Special Cleansing Services
In addition to the 300 street sweepers who operate in Westminster 24 hours a day, we employ a number of other specialist vehicles to keep the city's streets clean.
Westminster has some unique problems which mean that many streets need regular washing. These include areas with a large concentration of pubs, cafes and fast food outlets, as well as the problems associated with a large homeless population.
The mechanical street cleansing fleet consists of a combination of motorised pavement sweepers and larger road vehicles. These vehicles are included in both the scheduled daily work and in response to your reports of street cleansing issues. They operate day and night//

Yes Andy, I can ! Unless gates into farmers fields count !
But my point is a serious one. Lets leave all this talk about drunken louts weeing everywhere for a minute. We used to have plenty of public toilets available, but lots of them are now closed, because local Councils can't afford to keep them open.
Younger people may be able to cross their legs and hang on but us old fogies can't !

I am afraid most public toilets (I mean available in the street) not on private premises would also have to be patrolled. We had a strange coin operated structure around here a few years back on the pavement. You put 10p in a slot andif vacant the door swung open to reveal the WC and wash handbasin.
Only room for one at a time so no problem. For some reason it only lasted a few months and was taken away.
