My mum died of bowel cancer a year ago. She hardly drank a drop. I'm not going to drink less because of these guidelines. We all have to die of something. I'd rather go while enjoying a few too many glasses of wine.

It's pot luck. My grandad used to smoke 80 fags a day...drank every day without fail, although he did give up smoking he didn't give up drinking until he went into a care home. He died aged 87. My other granddad...a big whiskey drinker and a heavy smoker died aged 84 after being hit by a car.

^^my dad drank less than them and died of liver cancer aged 59.

It's pot luck.
