The way I understand this new phrase is that they are people who are so self congratulatory on their own extravagant displays of kindness,human understanding and humanity to others but not in my back yard thank you. I just wan't to give the impression I am so wonderful but that is far as my interest goes.!!
I don't think you are stupid but you are being ingenuous; the horrible situation in Calais is the result of our interference in the Middle East which was executed and backed by right-wingers and deplored by moderates. The irony is that the people who backed the war are now jeering at the moderates.
Interesting to note that there was not one word of condemnation aimed at the illegals in Calais, from the head teacher or officials at the Highland Council.
All part and parcel of their terms of employment I presume?
