My reply was regarding the topic of this thread - in that regard it was my opinion, didn't realise we were discussing steel works , trouble with British Industry generally.

You brought employment into it, and the link I gave in my original question talks about 'tackling segregation', not employment.

Baldric there are 2 official languages in Saudi Arabia, Arabic and English.
English is the language of international business .science, technology and university education. Very few Saudi Arabs can not speak virtually flawless English. Everything official Road signs, notices etc is in English and Arabic .

It’s not that I don’t like your answer, I just don’t agree with it, (but then I never will: I have always believed in British jobs for British people). I think the point of the AB news section is to canvass opinions and debate each others viewpoint.
If we all got miffed because we didn’t like the answers, it would all be rather pointless!
It would appear that some ABers want to comment on every topic even if they don’t have much to say, whereas others only contribute to threads that interest them or they feel strongly about.

No, I'm not the head tossing flouncing type and of course our own people should be able to have jobs, I believe the best person for the position should get it.

I realise that it may be different in some areas but a large proportion of Muslims in my home town speak with the local accent and our own dialect, including the three I spoke to this afternoon.

I would like to think anyone wanting to settle here would want to learn and integrate - I am not naive enough to think that some don't.

No, I’m not the head tossing type either.
I don’t have a problem with people coming to the country who already have a job (maybe a foreign company who has an office/branch/base in the UK), and the means to support themselves whilst here, but until we have full employment, no homeless, no NHS waiting lists, no pensioners living in poverty, and on and on, I will never accept a mass influx of people from other countries. Muslim or otherwise. Now, I am not naive enough to think that will ever happen either.
