I believe that they should in any school where wearing the veil is not the accepted uniform.

Children learn by reading facial expressions from teachers, and each other, and this vital communication is cut off both ways if teachers and pupils wear veils - as well as inhibiting communication among the children.

As I understand it, the veil is a choice under the Muslim faith, and I believe that integration has to take a position over a preferred mode of dress.

They aren't being banned, the instruction is that the school is rightly being marked down for failing to remove that barrier to teaching. There should be no barriers since that means the role of teacher is not being performed correctly.

Of course if folk adopted the culture of the country they are living in, and integrated with society, there wouldn't be a fuss. They need not do so lock, stock and barrel, but need to do so enough to be accepted according to the prevailing cultural requirements.

I think we should convince Muslims that women wearing veils is a big turn on for British men, they would then forbid the wearing of veils!
