Pegida To Launch In U K

Tommy Robinson will be the face of Pegida in the UK. Athe founder of the EDL, it appears he has renounced his past. Has he grown up enough to take on his new task though....?

I'd never heard of this guy until he started popping up on AB now and then. I heard him speak on the R4 one evening this week and taken at face value everything he said made absolute sense. To add a large number of people did bad stuff when they were young or held extreme views, people can mellow. I mean, I used to vote Labour.

Maybe he is self-serving - who knows? - but the fact remains that what he's saying is right and, regardless of our personal opinions of him, we should be honest enough to acknowledge that. The people who need to wake up are those who don't understand that there is a far wider picture here. There are none more far right than those he is warning us against.
Got to go. Au revoir.

I don't think your reading the competent of much posts N. I haven't denied that what he says is, broadly speaking, what the majority of British people are thinking. In fact I've said it is what we're all thinking. What you, and others, seem to be in denial about is WHY he's saying it. I'm honestly becoming a bit sick and tired of trying to educate people to look behind the facade of TR instead of taking him at face value.

WHY is he saying it? I'm no expert but I'd hazard a guess that he's voicing a lot of the public's genuine concerns that show no signs of being addressed! Saudi Arabia are offering an awful lot of money for the building of new mosques in the UK. Wouldn't that money be better spent on the thousands of non English speaking refugee children that are headed for these shores?

Simple fact it is he is saying what probably most normal people think. They may not think to the same extreme he does but thy do broadly agree with him
But as usual the right-on thinkers still dont get it . They never will they live on planet zog or have their head so firmly up their jacksie the sun dont shine.

Blimey, if we questioned WHY our MP's/party leaders say and act in the way they do there would be too many talking points!
Let's see just how much support TR does receive. There's little doubt that broadly what he has said is what you would expect to be heard although I am not sure about flying the St George's flag from every mosque.

Maybe not on a daily basis ag Christie but maybe they could fly it on St George's Day itself?
The Imam at the Grand Mosque in Paris was happy to fly the tricolour following the attacks there.

As TR rightly points out there is a lack of willingness to integrate in some sections of the Muslim community, that is patently obvious.

Zacs-Master, //I'm honestly becoming a bit sick and tired of trying to educate people to look behind the facade of TR instead of taking him at face value.//
Goodness! Patronising or what? What you’re really saying is that you don’t like him but if anyone else said what he’s saying you wouldn’t protest because you agree with him. Hardly objective - or rational. You are clearly in no position to educate anyone.

Zacs; //If we have to resort to TR as our guiding light, gawd help us.//
I don't think anyone here is offering Tommy Robinson as their 'guiding light', but he says quite well and with sincerity, what many of us believe. Instead of your disparaging remarks, why don't you say one thing he has said with which you do not agree, then perhaps we could discuss it in a rational manner.
