I think this is very sad. I have made contact with people that I was in Primary School with, in the late 50's !

I will be sorry to see it go, as its far less intrusive than Facebook, and you don't have all these constant requests from people that you have never heard of, wanting to be your "friend" !
I've never lost contact with my friends those that I have lost contact with will be by design.
Been invited to many school reunions but why would I go and meet people I have nothing to say to?
Never mind. We're all friends on here despite our numerous differences....aren't we? ;)
how do you know that you'd have nothing to say to them, Talbot? Or is it just that school brings back memories you don't want to revisit?

I think in some ways friendsreunited just outlived it's USP. It's spent 20-odd years reuniting everyone who wants to be reunited, but those born within that period now have other ways of staying in touch.
Simple reason really, jno ....I have nothing to say to them.
Well it has reunited many couples that shouldn't have lost contact in the first place and realised what a mistake it had been to be "saddled" with the spouse that "came along."

Sqad; This is simply a general observation on your part of course? :0)
^^^LOL........."of course.".........;-)
It was great until they messed with it, then I couldn't find myself let alone any friends,
Before FR, I am not sure how I would have made contact with people from such a long time ago, and I for one think that the website has done a lot of good, and am sorry to see it go.

Sqad...behave yourself ! ...you are very perky this morning !
Didn't you have to pay to message someone?

I joined it but I didn't really use it. I'm still friends with my school friends.
"Join in now, it's free, easy and you'll be back in touch in no time!"
I had a look at my Infant, Junior and Senior School years and there were load of people I swear I'd never heard of - there was one guy called Helmut something and I'm absolutely positive there was noone in my class of that name - I gave it up as a bad job!
I have said before that I've got a lot of pleasure from FR and will be sad to see it go. I've been contacted by loads of ex-pupils of mine. As far as my own schooldays it's interesting to see what classmates ended up doing , I emphasise classmates not friends.
