As an example...the winner of the mens' 400 metres sprint at the next Olympics will be the chap who ran the fastest. There is no wriggle room there. He will win because he is the best runner on the day.

However, the winner of an acting award, or a music award or any award that is based on a judgement call, doesn't just win that award on merit. There are a load of other factors which ....

means it is hardy worth worrying about.

If black people make up only 3% of the population then 1 black person on most committees or boards or whatever would probably mean they are then over represented.
dont see whites complainig about not getting parts in bollywood movies !...strange that

That's not really comparable.

To act in a Bollywood film, you would need fluent Asian languages, the ability to dance and sing to conform with the format, and be believable and appealing to Bollywood audiences ... in short, you would need to be an Asian actor, or of Asian extraction.
It's not strange at all -- you've just not been paying any attention, presumably. In fact there have been firstly quite a few non-Indian actors in Bollywood movies (one of the current leading stars in Bollywood is a Liverpudlian, for example). And then five or so years ago there was a campaign against such actors appearing at all:

So are you really saying racism is ok against whites jim? I'm a little confused by your post.
I wasn't saying anything of the sort.
"In fact there have been firstly quite a few non-Indian actors in Bollywood movies"

"and appealing to Bollywood audiences"

and there you have it...need to be appealing to hollywood audiences...and if the vast majority of whom happen to be white !?

Is it a new word you have learnt? but I have go news for you, it has been banded about far too much to have any of the effect, that it once had.

I am happy to stand corrected - thank you for your post.
Could I ask you all to pause for 1 minute & then just forget what a person looks like. If he/she is an actor or an athlete was their performance good ?
this is what I am interested in I personally don't give a *** what colour they are. I am getting sick of the constant references to race on this forum.

I don't think the issue of ethnicity is a problem for the people on the form, but it is an issue in the wider world, and worthy of debate, and that is why it is raised and discussed.
For 'form' please read forum.

Are you having a go at the OP, Whiskery?

It would be odd for the respondents to this question not to refer to race.
