Are We Entering An Endless Cycle Of Irrelevant Stupidity?
The Internet is a great place for exchanging views, and challenging viewpoints...but have we entered a period where we now have two tribes - one waiting to be offended by something, and the other waiting for the first to be offended to condemn them for being offended?

Is this the future? Do we no longer really care about the issue, but are more interested in sharing how offended we are on the 'rainbow of outrage'?
What's your take on this?

// and, as Vulcan said, this thread proves it.// Nigh
andy - proves is present tense and proved is past tense
[ honestly I blush when I am invited to make comments such as these ]
and the thread proves it when all the comments were undeleted whic,h were all over the place and an endless cycle of whatsit
but once they were deleted - the thread read quite logically
and so the thread proved it ( past tense ) but doesnt now as it seems to hang together
so Vulvan's " proves" which is present tense should be changed to "proved " ay-yay-yay which as you know is past tense
you did do tenses at school didnt you andie ?
Apologies to readers who want a less intrsopective thread
but my defence was that I was driven to it by the endless cycle of ....
hooray thread back on track !

well yes or erm no
a reference from the seventies for the long lived !
Both civilixation and Ascent of man can hardly be included in the endless cycle. Clarke's civilisation was criticised at the time for being too high-brow - not something you often meet on AB I have to say
but nice to be reminded of them
as perhaps a beacon ( watch out everyone a metaphor coming uuuuup ! )
to illuminate the unwary in the ter daaah cycle of endless stupidity
[ and no Nigh - pedantry does NOT require logic - there are many pedantic rules of English grammar which defy logic]
