I really don't know what they would do, but things they could do
restrict/ban trade with us,
restrict/ban our goods from passing through their countries
Restrict/ban our company's working in their countries

Some people seem to have this idea that the EU is split into two equal parts -- us and the other lot. That's stretching the truth, to say the least.
If we are going to leave, it seems in everyone's interest to do so amicably. Just flat out refusing to pay would appear to me to be less than amicable, and presumably the rest of the EU would try to react accordingly.

I have JTH, he, like many is a Europhile so he's never going to get anywhere.
Jim the EU is split not equally perhaps but it is. Refusing to pay is less amicable perhaps but you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, our only sway in the EU is the fact that we are a net contributor, they wont take any notice of Mt Nice Guy.
