For a start I expect they would withhold the £5billion given to UK farmers to subsidise food production , research grants etc. and there maybe big backlash in terms of cancelled trade deals
We are a net contributor though so i am sure the EU would not want to lose us, especially as others may follow leaving just a few major economies to support Greece and all the old Eastern bloc countries
Since it's a repeat question here's my repeat answer

I really don't know what they would do, but things they could do
restrict/ban trade with us,
restrict/ban our goods from passing through their countries
Restrict/ban our company's working in their countries
Are some.
most would hurt us more than them I think
fender is correct, the twist and shouts wont have that so if we stop paying the EU would do everything it can to make us start paying, QED. So basically there is no reason to pay at all.

so all stiuff we could do back then.
Some people seem to have this idea that the EU is split into two equal parts -- us and the other lot. That's stretching the truth, to say the least.
If we are going to leave, it seems in everyone's interest to do so amicably. Just flat out refusing to pay would appear to me to be less than amicable, and presumably the rest of the EU would try to react accordingly.
I have JTH, he, like many is a Europhile so he's never going to get anywhere.
Jim the EU is split not equally perhaps but it is. Refusing to pay is less amicable perhaps but you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, our only sway in the EU is the fact that we are a net contributor, they wont take any notice of Mt Nice Guy.
maybe steg, but I think they would rather not find out.
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to stop paying and effectively renege on our agreement and thereby leave the EU before we've had the promised referendum
It would be like an exasperated parent cutting off an errant childs allowance, we paid gazillions we tried, we bent over backwards but in the end it was never going to work. I don't think many in the world would blame us for that.
