I wager that most are thinking exactly what Kate Hopkins has dared to say, but have been frightened in case they are accused of siding with a 'paedophile' or showing no sympathy for a 'child's' suffering etc etc.

Please don't turn this thread into a anti-Kate Hopkins or even anti-AOG, just comment on the case itself.

Yes we all know that he committed a UK criminal act, but is the media blowing this case out of all proportion?

I've long been of the opinion that most left wingers do have arrested brain development. Some are just plain evil and in it for what they can get.
Is that pointed at Katie or Adam?
What? Svelk, I've thought the same about right-wingers.
Or are you deliberately winding us up?

/// But - and this is the salient point - at fifteen, dressed go out, they all passed for nineteen, and happily they didn't get themselves into a situation like this - but the situations they could have been in are outside my, or any parents' control, no matter what Ms. Hopkins' lofty pronouncements about her own children and parenting may say. ///

I think you criticise Ms Hopkins unfairly, perhaps her children and her parenting skills may leave yours open for criticism, I don't wish to be rude, but who allows their 15 year old girls to leave the house dressed as 19 year olds?

Children or young women, which is it?
AOG - Some don't actually try and look older.
I used to go to my friend's house to get ready to go out. I didn't leave my parents' house dressed up like that, AOG.

/// I think we can all remember *feeling* like we knew it all at 15 and I bet if we could jump in a time machine and travel back to have a chat with our 15 year old selves, we'd all say - "You've got a LOT more to learn...enjoy being a kid whilst it lasts." ///

When I was a 15 year old we were kids, and thought a kiss from a girl was all rather embarrassing, and not something you would brag to your friends about.

I am always being told that I should move with the times, perhaps in this case the UK should.

A 15 year old these days is much more advanced both physically and mentally, why kids as young as five can operate some of today's technology devices with no problem.

The the age of consent in Austria, Germany, Portugal and Italy it is 14, and in France, the Czech Republic, Denmark, and Greece it is 15.

But the age of consent in the UK is 16.

Where did I say it wasn't?
I have to admit I haven't followed this story, I find the whole thing very unsavoury, so forgive me if it's been answered already....

Did he know she was only 15 at the time?
Yes, B00, he did.
AOG...you're giving us the age of consent in other countries, Why?
Then it doesn't matter how old she looked or how she made it "difficult for him to say no", he should have, and now, quite rightly he'll pay the price for his sleazy stupidity.
Despite trolling a nine-year-old autistic girl earlier this year, the 40-year-old's daughter is reportedly so severely autistic it is likely that she will live at home for the whole of her life.

Hmmm, double-standards.

I hope that Katie has no cause to call her daughter a ***.
B00 is spot on as always. There's a law. He broke it. I don't think he's a paedophile (they target children, not 15-year-olds) but I think he deserved all he got.
His stupidity is astounding.

I'm quite sure she looked 'beyond her years', but he's a good looking rich footballer, he could have had his pick of young looking girls if that's his thing, all of whom are above the legal age minimum. I'm sure any one of them would also been as equally gullible too.
If Mr Johnson had had the foresight to have been born in Somalia he may have had a slightly easier time of things.
Cultural doncha know. Trumps the law every time, apparently.
Is anyone actually arguing to the contrary (that he broke the law) ?

After reading the full Katie Hopkins article she has hit the nail on the head.

And as much as Adam Johnson is a pillock driven by his penis (of which he has pictures on his phone, in case he needs a pick-me-up)…
… and as much as young girls getting felt-up in cars is distasteful…
… this persecution by the mob, funded by the taxpayer and fueled by jealousy, revulsion and group-think, is equally repellent.
Some of the mob will be Newcastle fans, some will be minor-league footballers who never made the big time, others will have young daughters they fear for, and many will feel sorry for the ex-girlfriend and his cute little baby.
But none of these things make Adam Johnson worthy of prison.
The only people who have won in this sorry saga are the police and the father of the wannabe.
The dad could bag a million. The police bag a high-profile win. If they focused on real crime instead of vanity policing, this world would be a safer place.

If you had read the rest of the post you wouldn't need to ask, but then perhaps not.
