Yes I know the stay mob will just call us their favourite names but I wish they'd digest it if they were reading a transcript of someone anonymous rather than just thinking their usual ingrained thoughts that no one from UKIP could possibly talk any sense and shutting up shop. Give it a go.....

Whilst Zacs-Master is … erm … gathering himself, perhaps I can return to my question which arose from Baldric’s post at 21:01 yesterday. Nigel Farage clearly says what a lot of people want to hear, so does anyone have any idea why he is unable to get a party behind him?
I'm sorry to disappoint you N but I'm fully....Erm.....gathered. I think your question falls down through the word 'lots'. I suspect that your 'lots' isnt the 'lots' which is required to form a party. I also suspect that, whilst he says things which people want to hear, those with more than 2 brain cells, can see that he has no way of delivering on his promises. He did garner the support of a few radical MPs who's defection to UKIP was really just a protest vote and a few others who did / said rather strange things, whom he, if I recall correctly, he either distanced himself from or sacked. Not a good recipie for forming a credible political party.
Zacs-Master, I didn't say 'lots' - I said a lot. Thanks for your opinion, though. Hopefully we'll get the views of other people too.
Recipe is written with one I.
Even I know that. ;o)
just watched the video have to say i was impressed with what was said by farage
Hi ToraToraTora,

The link didn't work as it was a fullscreen embed link - one which has been going around in a email forward chain. It's been very popular (and has appeared on these pages previously).

He has a point, one which isn't addressed sensibly at the national level - the EU project has been a project about Germany.

This is one of the reasons it's so sad the Cameron came back from Europe with so little. I wanted him to go out there for EU reform, not for him to imply reform our relationship with the EU.

Anglicizing the EU would do it the world of good.
Yes an excellent speech, if only to see the look on Merkel and Hollande's faces.

Such a change for a politician to say how it is to their faces, rather than the usual kowtowing hand shakes and smiles one generally witnesses when the likes of Cameron, Merkel, Hollande and others meet.
Nigel Farage, the man who has a small fortune out of us being in Europe, and more especially, him being a Euro MP.
What nonsense. All MPs get paid for their attendance at various parliaments.
Forgot about the Kinnock clan Mikey?
Mikey, //Nigel Farage, the man who has a small fortune out of us being in Europe, and more especially, him being a Euro MP. //

That makes no sense. He wants out of Europe and if he gets his wish he'll be out of a job. You need to re-think that one.
Retro....but the big difference is that Farage doesn't agree with the EU, but is content to earn huge sums of money from it.

Anyway, where has our favourite Little Englander been these last few weeks ?

His one and only stated aim for his Party, is to get a referendum on staying or leaving the EU. UKIP have no other policies...they are a one-issue affair, and this is by Farage's own words.

But now that we are soon to have this Referendum, Farage is nowhere to be seen. In the build up to last May Election, you could scarcely turn the TV or radio on, or open a newspaper, without his mug staring out at you.

Of course, this was ultimately a wasted exercise, as all it resulted in was a loss of one of his only 2 MP's, and his 6th or 7th or 8th unsuccessful attempt at a Westminster seat.
Mikey, //where has our favourite Little Englander been these last few weeks ? //

Who would that be?

You seem to have overlooked my post at 10:34.
Retro....//but the big difference is that Farage doesn't agree with the EU, but is content to earn huge sums of money from it//

Really. What has he earn't as a European MP? Because of your vitriol you probably never bothered to watch him on a TV forum with Russel Brand and some Tory MP.
Brand accused him of being a rich capitalist or some typical socialist trite talk.
Mr Farage just laughed and stated he was probably less rich than anyone else on the panel including the odious Labour loving Brand.
Not overlooked Naomi, just disagreed with, which I take it, I am allowed to do !

The man is a hypocrite....He lambastes Brussels for being a huge waste of time and more importantly money, but claims every penny he can in the process of being there......a pig with both feet in the trough, as well as its snout, if ever I saw one.

In reality, it will break his heart if we vote to leave, despite what he says.
He would much rather remain, earn his huge fortune and stay in the limelight, because without the EU, him and his pathetic rump of a Party will cease to be of any political importance whatsoever. He will return to being a nobody.
Mikey, //In reality, it will break his heart if we vote to leave, despite what he says. //

Don't you think you're being just a little ridiculous here? You're letting emotion get the better of you.
/// Farage is nowhere to be seen///

He's been very busy, mikey. Including in Newport, Tuesday night.
But seeing as, by your own admission, you only watch the BBC for news, you're not likely to see his excellent work for Brexit. The EU wouldn't be very happy, paying all that money to the beeb for pro-EU propaganda, only to see Mr Farage talking sense to people every night.
Probably the same reason we're not witnessing the plight of thousands of refugees, night after night. (until the referendum's over, that is)
Mikey
You are becoming too emotional over Mr Farage. He really does worry you so much doesn't he considering he will cease to have political importance in your opinion?
Talking of hypocrisy I notice you side stepped the comment about the Kinnock clan with their snouts firmly in the trough again!!
Yet again what could have been an interesting topic of discussion has deteriorated into gutter snapping & name calling. Get a grip ABers & let us talk sensibly about a very serious subject. From my own point of view I agree with the points made by Nigel Farage one of the few politicians who is not afraid to be giving us some true facts about the EU.
^You tell them, ron. They're pathetic, aren't they. (anti-Farage twits, obviously, ;-))
Yes, that was an excellent speech and not to be forgotten. I feel sorry for him and wish he could get a decent party behind him, don't know why he can't naomi, maybe people are too scared of 'change' and stick to the two 'regular' parties.
