on a point of order on a sunday morning with not much going on
// there is a man who is jailed for possession of firearms
and AOG asks in an agonised tone whether he should be jailed - PP//
//Since hardly anyone on AB can understand what you type, //[ AOG]
Oh come on AOG ! put your glasses on and read again. - 'there is a man jailed for possession of firearms'
this is a sentence with a main verb. - Just like miss thingey the english teacher taught you all those years ago. Or am I the only one on AB with English O level ? [ 1966 grade 6 ]. I suspect not.
OK I agree I could have taken 'and' out and made two simple sentences.
Or are you only OK with one word sentences and anything longer is just too much for an old man ? Like 'yeah' or 'wha'?' or 'crap!'
and yes to return to the thread, the hard-to-understand idea that you are struggling with, is: " I think someone who is convicted of firearms possession should go to jail. "
