Circumcision Of Boys For Religious Reasons
An Algerian-born father, separated from the English wife he married in a Muslim ceremony, has failed in his High Court bid to have his two young sons circumcised in accordance with his strict Muslim faith. The judge said that choice should be left until children are old enough to decide for themselves.

Could this lead to a change in the law? I hope so.

Any circumcision should be left until the boys are 16/18, when they can decide for themselves.
As regards to it being an "essential" pillar of any faith...that is sheer nonsense. Any religion that has to resort to a completely unnecessary medical procedure in order to give itself some extra legitimacy needs to radically reassess itself.

Mutilation of boys for "religious" reasons is so wrong.
If an adult chooses to be circumcised or if it is for medical reasons - that is different.
The law will never change for fear of upsetting the religions that perform this barbaric procedure on male babies.
BTW, why have I suddenly gone off the idea of opening a bag of pork scratchings?

//Both circumcised and uncircumcised men can get a PA piercing. Uncircumcised men will have the piercing done a bit off-center so the frenulum and the surrounding tissue is not damaged. Other than that, one’s circumcision status doesn’t dictate PA, so most men can get this piercing without a problem.//
I am absolutely certain that boys should not be circumcised, except for medical reasons (my uncle had to be circumcised at 11 mths, - poor little soul, he died of meningitis at 18 mths.). For any other reason it equates to child abuse, religion has no say in the matter, I believe.
Aged 18 then chaps may make up their own minds. Cleanliness has nothing to do with it, boys are (and should be) taught to be clean. (On with this subject at the moment with grandson as it happens!)

This was the topic of discussion on the radio today and I just couldn't help laughing when a lady phoned in to the program and stated that her son was in tremendous pain when he got his foreskin caught in his zip.
The funny bit was, the shows presenter, misheard the word zip and thought she said "caught in the lift".
I know its a serious subject, but this mental picture just had me in fits.
